This initiative of the Threatened Languages Study Group of the University of Barcelona, Òmnium Cultural and the Xarxa Vives d'Universitats also aims to remember the work of Professor Jesús Tuson to disseminate the linguistic diversity of the world. It is open to bachelor's and master's degree theses, doctoral theses, articles and books that focus on this topic.

Works may be submitted in any language, although a full translation into Catalan is required. The works must have been presented or published in the past three calendar years, that is, in the period from 2021 to 2023. The prize is one thousand euros for the author of the selected work. In the event that the works have several authors, the prize will be distributed equally, unless the authors themselves request other distribution solutions. In the previous edition, David Ginebra Domingo, representing the UAB, won the prize with the work Descripció fonològica del yamalero, la llengua dels yauro de les Planes Orientals de Colòmbia.
