On 25 June, the UAB will welcome students participating in this year's UAB Barcelona Summer School. There will be, in this ninth edition, more than five hundred people from 58 different nationalities from five continents. The welcoming ceremony, which will take place at 9:00 a.m. in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, will bring together the students of the first round, which will run until 12 July.

During the welcome session, UAB Vice Rector for International Relations and Language Policy Laura Santamaría, academic coordinator of the programme Graham Mortyn, and the social programme team, will present both the University and the UAB Barcelona Summer School and offer students practical information for their stay.

The UAB Barcelona Summer School is the University's international summer school, offering courses in all academic fields and open to the international public as well as to the UAB student body. This year there will be new courses and 90% of the teaching will be in English. Students can have between 6 and 12 ECTS credits validated.

The activity takes place in two three-week periods. In the first, thirteen subjects will be taught, one of them online and the rest in the faculties Education, Arts & Humanities, Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine and UAB Idiomes. The second period will run from 15 July to 2 August. The UAB Barcelona Summer School offers participants the possibility of sharing experiences with students from other countries and learn about different cultures, and the chance to take part in leisure and sports activities. This year the social programme (the former buddy programme) will offer seven activities per period.
